The best thing I like about summers is the curd based goodies which are served chilled. These preparations like raita or dips give you a relief from the killing heat. The curd based chilled preparations are not only healthy but also save you from heat strokes. A chilled glass of lassi or chaas is also divine in this harsh weather

A bowlful of chilled raita works equally. Raita with fruits or summer veggies not only keeps you full and refreshing but also provide nutrition. One such raita is Aloo Ka Raita. In this dish boiled potato cubes are added to the curd with pomegranate, pudina and jeera spices which have a cool effect on the stomach

INGREDIENTS

•  Yogurt/Thick plain curd – 2 cups/ 400 gms

•  Boiled potatoes (cut into small cubes) 1 cup

•  Fresh pomegranate/anaardana – 1/2 cup

•  Salt – to taste

•  Red chilly flakes – 1/2 tsp

•  Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

•  Pudina bhuna jeera masala – 1 tsp

WALKTHROUGH
1-  Take chilled curd in a bowl. Whisk it well with a wire whisk

2-  Add all the ingredients except salt

*  salt should be added just before serving to prevent the curd from souring

3-  Serve chilled with your breakfast parantha or main course dishes as a side dish. I love to have this aaloo ka raita with Choor-Choor Ajwain Parantha
