Cooking time 15 minutes Servings – 4 Cuisine Indian – Kerala
Cabbage – 500 gms.
Coconut ( shredded) – 1/4 cup
Ginger – 1-inch piece
Shallots – 3-4 nos.
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt, red chilly powder,garam masala powder – 2 tsp or as per taste
Curry leaves – 1 small bunch
Whole red chillies – 3-4 nos.
White urad dal – 1 tsp
Mustard leaves – 1 tsp
Chop the cabbage finely
Slice the shallots and ginger finely and add these to cabbage along with curry leaves and shredded coconut
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds.When crackle, add whole red chillies.
Add urad dal and let it fry.Finally, add cabbage mix and stir.
Add salt and powdered spices and stir-fry the vegetables until it becomes a little bit soft.Don’t cover with lid.
Add remaining coconut as a garnish and tasty stir-fry cabbage or thoran is ready to eat.
