Fried Rice
Fried rice is a rice-based savoury dish prepared by stirfrying boiled rice with mixed veggies in a wok
This is an Indo-Chinese version of a rice dish. The Indo Chinese dishes have been very much relished in our country for the past four decades and have put a deep influence on our cuisine and this dish is one of them
This fried rice dish becomes a perfect one with soy and vinegar which are the key ingredients and flavours of Chinese cuisine
Whenever I plan to cook something Chinese like dishes like chilly-paneer, chilly chicken or Manchurians, my preference is to cook fried rice along with. This fried rice dish makes a perfect combo with anything mentioned above
INGREDIENTS -:
1- Rice (washed and soaked for 30 minutes) – 1 cup
2- Finely chopped vegetables (carrot, onion, green and red bell peppers) – 1 cup
3- Chopped or crushed garlic – 2 tsp
4- Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
5- White vinegar – 1 tbsp
6- Black peppercorn – 1 tsp
7- Salt – 1tsp while boiling rice +1 tsp while stirfrying
8- Oil – 1 tbsp +1 tsp while boiling rice
Method -:
1- Keep the rice for boiling with water, salt and oil
2- When cooked, stain rice with a strainer and keep aside
3- Heat oil in a wok and add garlic
4- Stir them and add chopped veggies and stir fry them at high heat
5- Add soy sauce, vinegar, black peppercorns and salt
6- Mix them well and add boiled rice
7- Combine everything well to finish aromatic and flavoursome Chinese style fried rice

 

Serve this dish with chilly-paneer or Manchurian

Keep the rice for boiling with water, salt and oil
