Almond Biscotti

Biscotti are classic Italian biscuits known for their crunchy, dry, and hard texture, achieved by baking them twice. Traditionally, they are prepared with almonds, but other nuts or dried berries can also be added to create different variations. For an extra layer of flavor, spices like cinnamon or nutmeg can be incorporated into the batter.

The process begins with a simple batter made using the basic ingredients of a sponge cake. The dough is shaped into logs and baked until set. Once cooled slightly, the logs are sliced crosswise into oblong pieces, which are then baked again. This second bake gives biscotti their signature crisp and crunchy texture, perfect for dipping into coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.
