Juicy cabbage and green peas make a wonderful sabzi that we enjoy as a side dish. Any dal preparation or hearty raita makes a tasteful pair with this desi sabzi. Band gobi and green peas are cooked together with some aromatics and regular spices to make a complete sabzi. This sabzi feels divine, especially in winter. At that time of the year, the veggies are super fresh and juicy. But nowadays, all the veggies are available throughout the year. So that I don’t miss the opportunity to cook this tasty sabzi whenever I desire

●  INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
• Patta gobhi/cabbage  – 1 flower(500 gms)
• Green peas/matar – 1 cup (200 gms)
• Onion – 1 medium sized
• Tomato – 1 medium sized
• Ginger  – 1-inch piece
• Garlic – 4 cloves
• Cooking oil (any type) – 2 tbsp

●  SPICES ( WHOLE AND POWDERED )
• Cumin/jeera – 1 tsp
• Salt – 1 tsp/to taste
• Red chilly powder  – 1 tsp
• Coriander /dhania powder  – 2 tsp
• Turmeric/Haldi powder  – 1/2 tsp
• Garam masala – 1/2 tsp

●  METHOD TO COOK PATTA GOBI-MATAR KI SABZI
1- Keep a kadahi on flame and add cooking oil. When oil is heated, add jeera/cumin seeds. Allow the cumin seeds to crackle

2- Next, add chopped onions. Roast/Bhunow onions for a minute

3- Add chopped ginger-garlic and chillies. Stir them with onions

4- Now add all the powdered spices like red chilly powder,  turmeric powder,  and coriander powder. Bhunow the spices with onions

5- Next, add chopped tomatoes and 2 tsp Water. Bhunow onion-tomato masala for a minute

6- Add sliced cabbage and turn it after intervals for a number of times

7- Cover the pan for a minute so that cabbage cooks nicely with onion-tomato masala and the spices

8- Next, add green peas/matar. Add salt now and turn the sabzi for a couple of seconds

9- Cover the pan so that peas become soft

10- Now uncover the sabzi and allow to cook until you see the oil from sides

11- Finish the cabbage-matar ki sabzi by adding garam masala and coriander leaves.

12- Serve this tasty and healthy cabbage-green pea sabzi with other dishes in the main course
