Lemony Fish In Butter-Garlic Sauce

From start to finish this pan seared fish filets have been accompanied with lemon,  that’s why I call it lemony fish in butter garlic sauce. For years we have been fondly eaten tandoori fish(mildly seasoned and then roasted in tandoor/ big clay ovens) we love that charred and smoky flavour which comes by grilling fish or meat on hot charcoal.

This month, when my children came home for Diwali festival, we decided to cook fish at home. We tried the easiest recipe which prepared under 30 minutes. As it was not possible to use tandoor at homes,  we decided to give a try on pan seared recipe. The basic marination was done for 10 minutes with salt and lemon juice and then the fish filets were pan seared till perfection in butter and oil as well. And finally, a sauce of butter,  garlic and lemon slices was poured over the cooked fish. And when we started eating that mouth-watering, buttery n flakey fish, the only words we said were yum yum nom!!

Ingredients

1- Any boneless fish fillets Of medium thickness – 2 or 300 gms(I bought singara)
2- Lemon juice – 2 tsp for marination+2 tsp for sauce
3- Lemon wedges or thin round slices – 4-5
4- Finely chopped garlic – 1 tbsp
5- Butter – 1 tbsp for cooking+1 tbsp for sauce
6- Oil – 1 tbsp
7- Salt 1 tsp for marination+1tsp while cooking
8- Crushed black pepper – 2 tsp

Instructions

1- Marinate the fish fillets with salt and lemon and keep aside for 10 minutes

2- Heat oil and butter in a pan and add the fish fillets skin side down (if those are with skin)


3- Pan fry both sides turning gently with a wooden spatula. It will take 5 minutes each side to get the golden colour Time to sprinkle some salt and crushed pepper

4- Cover the pan with a lid to cook in its steam for more 5 minutes or till perfection. Now switch off the flame and prepare for the sauce

5- Take another pan(or in the same pan) add 1 tbsp butter. When heated add chopped garlic and fry them a little. Time to add lemon juice and lemon slices. Stir a little and pour this sauce over cooked fish

6- I serve the fish with some roasted potatoes and green bean salad. This makes a complete wholesome meal
