Most of us might have relished citrus candies in our childhood days, as these are the most favourite of all. I too love those flavours and often bake orange flavoured cake n cupcakes in which I Iove to add homemade orange marmalade.Orange marmalade made by me contains orange peels candy n we all in the family love its citrusy flavour. This Christmas when I decided to bake a Christmas fruitcake, I thought to add orange peel candy along with other dried fruits n the result was awesome. These candied peels can be used to decorate cakes, cupcakes n puddings.
|Candied Orange Peel|
I prepared the candy in advance n stored in an airtight jar. These candied peels are very easy to make with only a few ingredients. They add amazing citrusy flavours to the cakes.I add them in the cake batter along with other dried fruits and also kept some for garnishing. When these candies are made in the sugar syrup, these are to dry up under the fan, keeping on the wire rack but I prefer them to store with its sugar syrup in a glass jar.
