MUSHROOM ON TOAST/OPEN TOAST WITH CHEESY MUSHROOMS

Simply Delicious and Easy To Cook these toasts call me for breakfast or sometimes as an evening snack on the regular bases. These toasts fulfil the need of most of the nutrition in the morning with minimum efforts. The cheesy-garlicky mushrooms top the crisp toasts and the taste is really superb! While seasoning, a pinch of nutmeg takes the flavours to the next level. Don’t think too much to entangle yourself among a number of breakfast options. Hurry! make this open toast with cheesy mushrooms which top like a crown

WHY SHOULD WE INCLUDE MUSHROOMS IN OUR DIET

Available for the whole year round, these edible fungi are loaded with B vitamins essential minerals like iron, calcium and potassium. Low in calories but high in fibre and water these mushrooms prevent osteoporosis or slow the brittleness process of bones. Do include the healthy mushrooms in your regular diet in the form of soups and starters to sandwich and curries. Just make sure to buy the firm, fresh and spotless ones

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

•  Bread slices (white Or brown) – 4 nos
•  Button mushrooms – 200 gms(sliced)
•  Garlic cloves – 4-5 (crushed, grated or finely chopped)
•  Butter – 2 tsp
•  Mozzarella cheese (grated) – 1 tbsp or to taste
•  Fresh cream or full-fat milk – 1/4 cup(50 ml)
•  Salt – 1/2 tsp or to taste
•  Nutmeg powder – a pinch or 1/4tsp
•  Crushed black pepper – 1 tsp

A FEW PREPARATIONS TO BE DONE

1-  Grill the bread slices in a pan, in a pop-up toaster or the oven. When crisp, keep aside
2-  Mix the milk/cream and grated mozzarella so well and keep aside

DIRECTIONS TO MAKE MUSHROOM TOAST

1- Keep a fry-pan on the low flame and add butter. Add chopped garlic and saute it.


2- Next, add sliced onions and saute until translucent Now, add sliced mushrooms. Saute until they become softer. Avoid overlooking

3- Add salt, pepper and nutmeg powder and mix well.

4- Add the prepared milk-cheese mix.

5- Cook until the milk is evaporated and the mix becomes thick

6- Spread the mushroom mix on toasts and serve hot

NOTES
If you want them cheesier, spread some grated mozzarella on prepared toasts and grill for 3-4 minutes in the oven or in the pan for 5 minutes with the lid on
