Banana-Chocolate-Coffee Cake Loaf

See what comes out when all the yummy flavours are combined, that is banana, chocolate, coffee, almond meal. And this is a classic chocolate-banana cake loaf. An utterly delicious moist cake is a perfect treat with your tea or coffee. Kids would definitely love them in their lunch box

I have baked banana loaf cake many times with cinnamon flavour but this time banana with coffee is a killer combination which can be given the best-suited compliment…’YUM’!

• Almond meal – 1 cup/100 gms (almonds ground to powder)
• Plain flour/Refined flour – 1 cup/100 gms
• Overripe bananas – 2 nos
• Eggs – 2 nos
• Light brown sugar – 1 cup/ 100 gms
• Any light cooking oil – 1/2 cup
• Chocolate chips or small bits of chocolate – 1/2 cup
• Coffee – 2 tsp
• A few chopped walnuts
• Baking powder – 1 tsp
• Baking soda – 1/2 tsp


1- Firstly, mix the dry ingredients like both flours, coffee powder, chocolate chips, baking powder and soda. Keep aside

2- In a mixer add sugar, eggs, oil and make a puree. Add bananas now and give a few pulses. Transfer the mix to a separate bowl

  • Pulsing will give us chunky bananas and that is what we need

3- Add the liquid to dry ingredients and mix well with a spatula. Add chopped walnut and half quantity of chocolate chips. The remaining half will be added on top of the batter

4- Pour the mix into a greased loaf tin. Give a few taps. Add remaining chocolate chips on top

5- Place the mould in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes at 180°C

6- Unmould the loaf when it is cooled down completely

7- Enjoy the divine Banana coffee chocolate loaf with your tea
