Multigrain dosa /मल्टी गरेन डोसा
Multigrain dosa is the latest addition to my dosa saga. This dosai is prepared with 3 types of healthy grains along with a superseed powder, the flax seeds/ अलसी के बीज. I grind flax seeds to make its powder. Recommended to grind just before the use to prevent it from oxidising. This powder can be used in different recipes for various purposes
These tiny and boring looking seeds are a big deal now. Rich in Omega 3 fatty acids is also the storehouse of essential nutrients and oils. When I add these powdered seeds to my dosa batter or parantha dough, I don’t need to use much oil during cooking. In this way, my dish is a healthier one
INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
• Rice flour – 1 cup
• Ragi flour – 3/4 cup
• Oatmeal/ oats flour – 1/2 cup
• Curd/dahi – 1 cup (whisked)
• Water – 1 cup or as required to make a medium-thin batter
• Flaxseed meal/ powder( अलसी पाउडर)- 1 tbsp
• Salt – 1 tsp or to taste
• Baking soda – 1 tsp
Step by step
1- Take a broad bowl and add all the flours, flaxseed meal, salt and baking soda. Mix well the dry ingredients
2- Next, add curd and then water as required. Whisk everything well to make a medium-thin batter for dosas
3- Grease dosa tawa and wipe with the kitchen towel to make it nonstick. After that, you won’t have to use oil while cooking dosa
4- Pour ladleful of batter in the centre and spread in the circular motion outwards. Cover the pan for a while. Bring the flame to medium. You can flip it to cook the other side
5- Serve the zero oil multigrain dosa with chutneys and sambhar
